Volunteer Programme

Streetlife Radio has a volunteering scheme whereby potential candidates can learn more about radio and get involved at their own pace. This is particularly suited for those interested but unable to commit to a course. You can get the chance to see what goes on behind-the-scenes, shadow a member of the crew and may even get some time on air.

Alternatively, it could be an opportunity whereby residents or other local professionals can give back or share their expertise…after all; we are a community radio station. Some of our volunteers had this to say!

"Streetlife has been an unexpected opportunity to explore my creative side and to build relationships across cultures and generations. The new studios mean that we can look forward to a bright future and provide our community with a radio station fit for the 21st century"
Norman

"Streetlife allows me to express myself which has made me more confident. I’ve been able to explore ‘radio presenting’ which has been my passion for a long time. Streetlife Radio gives me the opportunity to have firsthand experience of doing a radio show which has helped develop my skills immensely"
Riffat
