Streetlife Radio's taster workshops are suitable for schools, community groups and even work as good corporate team building exercises. They can be tailored for your budget and your groups' needs and requirements.

Taster workshops include the following:

Creative DJing

An exciting session that’s suitable for complete beginners or people looking to enhance their existing skills. We will teach you how to DJ whether you prefer to use vinyl, CDs or mp3s and you will learn on the very latest industry standard equipment in our studio or on site.

Editing with Audacity and Adobe

This is a session for those with no former knowledge of audio editing or the physics of sound. This is an introduction to industry standard audio editing programme Audacity and Adobe. During this workshop, participants will go through the process of importing audio tracks and introduce the anatomy of a sound WAV.

From there, you will learn how to edit the WAV, manage multiple audio tracks, record your own voice, and export your audio track. In addition participants will learn how to record sound, how to edit sound WAVs, how to import audio tracks from an outside source, about multi-layered audio tracks and mixing, labelling and managing recorded material, adding effects, de-noising audio recordings, and balancing stereo sound.

Podcasting

This practical session will show you how to record interviews, edit your recordings and package the material for distribution or playback online or on radio. By the end of the course you will have the technical skills to produce podcast packages of a professional quality.

Interview Techniques

This session will equip participants with practical skills and the ability to ensure they get the most out of any guest interview opportunity. The course will focus on preparation & research, questioning & styles and dealing with the unexpected. The acquired skills are transferrable to everyday life developing the learner’s confidence and public speaking.
