London Cocktail Week - Can I have a...?

Tuesday, 16 September 2014 19:57

It’s Friday and you wish to unwind after a hard long week at work. And as your colleagues go to the old-fashioned after work pub, your mind falters at the step of following the ritualistic tradition of this pub fiasco.

It’s not that you’re on strike from sweet decor of the establishment, but you’re just fatigued from the taste of the standard pints. Well, what I would suggest is for you to go on that cocktail experience you’ve heard so much about!

But if you haven’t heard about it then you might need to increase your social circle to expand the time line of your social news.

Gone are the days of when men assumed cocktails were the leisure of the ladies. But with such names as the “RUSTY NAIL’” and “SUPERMAN”, the consensus has now changed. Plus it’s rare to find a classy lady who isn’t interested in a guy who knows about his fine premium alcohol blends.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes a Man as ‘one possessing in high degree the qualities considered distinctive of manhood’.  In my personal opinion being a man is the point when a boy has gone from childhood and parent dependency; progressed through teenage and adolescent years (where he is still dependent) to a mature MAN that is fully capable, independent and works hard (qualities of manhood).

The maturation process from a boy to teenager to a man takes place at different paces for different folks, it is often said by women that ‘we broke up because he would often behave immaturely’ or ‘he was not independent, still living off of his mum’.  This sort of behavior would suggest that one is not quite fully developed into a man and does not display the characteristics of manhood.  Some males experience full maturation at 18 which is the universally acknowledged age where one normally experiences the full crossover to manhood.  Others experience it earlier and some later but what is constant is that the characteristics of the person in question will determine if he has indeed crossed over to manhood.
